Loud explosions in NFZ after the final announcements

Several loud explosions have been heard in the NFZ soon after the army made the final announcement for the LTTE terrorists to release the civilians held hostage by them this afternoon (Apr. 8). The army has made announcements using loudspeakers positioned a few hundred meters short of the western border of the NFZ.

The army suspects that the terrorists have launched some sort of an attack on the civilians who tried to escape their rule.
