Were the pilots flying the two Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) aircraft that carried out the suicide attacks on Colombo recently foreigners? This question was floating around in the aftermath of the incident but later fizzled out.However, photographs of elaborate ceremonies to mark the pilots’ deaths held in Canada have raised the suspicions of the intelligence services over their origins. They are probing whether the two were Canadian pilots flying for the Tamil Tigers. Both planes were shot down by the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF).
Intelligence services say that there are strong indications that the two pilots could very well be Canadian nationals of Sri Lankan origin who gained entry to Canada as refugees and obtained citizenship
